I have an AKAI MFC42 analog filter that I'd like to incorporate into my bass guitar synth rig. What I really need to know is if the Novation Remote Zero SL can interpret program change messages and then output a variety of CC values without a laptop hooked up to it. Can you use it to control hardware devices?

My basically consists of the following...

A variety of analog octaver devices ->
A variety of fuzz boxes, distortions, bitcrushers, and the Moog Freqbox ->
An Eventide harmonizer ->
Analog filter section ->
Eventide modulation and delay

The Moog MP-201 is my master controller. I use it for CV control of the Freqbox and some of my filters. I also use it to send program change and MIDI expression messages to the Eventide units.

The AKAI MFC42 has no internal memory but will accept MIDI CC messages for virtually all of its controls. So, I'm looking for a hardware device that can send CC messages to the MFC42 whenever it sees a program change message from the MP-201. This should basically give me the ability to store MFC42 "presets" on the external hardware unit.

Is the Novation what I'm looking for?
