Hi!
Got a new phone last October (HTC Hero) with Android 1.5 on it. After a little experimentation it became useful as a musical tool too. Smile

What did I do? I downloaded the app "FingerPlay MIDI" in the Android Market. On the linux pc install the FingerPlay server (or use an OSC server if you have one). You can find the JAVA app on http://thesundancekid.net/blog/fingerplay-midi/
It's then easy to send the OSC messages to ChucK or convert them to MIDI data.

To get the FingerPlay server running you need to have some virtual MIDI soundcards. You can add them with (as root)
Code:
modprobe snd-virmidi

If you use Chuck as the OSC server, you don't need the FingerPlay server. I had success with the Chuck OSC examples. Smile

Edit: as a side note, I didn't mention that the app uses wifi to connect to the server. Don't know if it works without wifi enabled.
