Tempco Resistors: do mouser have them ? can't find |
 |
|
I need 1K tempcos.
Farnell is out of stock, so the other chance is mouser.
does Mouser carry them ?
has anybody a number or a hint for keywords ?
What i got with my surch seems to be the normal metal Resistors ( with 50 ppm ) |

| I've also been looking for non-bridechamber sources - there must be some, or at least one (in the USA)! Much as I like Scott, he's been a bit swamped lately, and another source that'll ship faster would be nice. |

I know Bridechamber.
The Tempcos are 2.50$, at farnell only 0.37$ when taking in Switzerland what i have to do ( as i'm in switzerland ----> more expensive ).
the 3000PPM are fine for me as Jürgen specified allways between 3000----3500.
i need two dozend or more.......and have anyway to order at Farnell and Mouser.
Farnell is out of stock so i hoped for Mouser.
the other thing is that i have to watch shipping costs.
If i would not, the projects would cost me easily !!! double as much !
Mouser shipps now free when ordering over 120CHF ( 100-120$ depending on exchange )

Farnell US should have the 3000ppm tempcos in stock if those work for you. |

Hey Guys and Gals,
Unfortunately, I'm out of 2k tempcos right now at Magic Smoke. I just managed to scramble and find enough to satisfy some long standing orders but I don't have extra for any new orders. BTW, my apologies to anyone who is waiting for an order - December has been an "interesting" month for me - but we WILL get your stuff to you.
Basically, the source that used to make our 2k parts has decided not to make those anymore. All I can get now are 1k, and I'm not sure I want to stock those since all the Thomas Henry projects we carry use 2k.
I say Bridechamber is still your best bet for through hole parts. If you can make do with surface mount parts, then Digi-Key carries these nifty 0805 package Panasonic tempcos. Now before you go screaming into the woods about SMT resistors, check out Dave Brown's VERY clever solution for using two 1k SMT parts on his Mankato:
http://modularsynthesis.com/magicsmoke/mankato/mse.htm
Look near the top of the page where Dave has epoxied two of the SMT parts to the top of the 2164 chip. I'm also re-spinning the Mankato PCB so that there are pads underneath the 2164 for two of the SMT tempcos. These new boards (rev 04) will probably show up next month, and don't worry, there will still be pads for a through hole part, so you can use either solution. You may think it a little wasteful to use two 1k parts instead of a proper 2k tempco, but the SMT parts at Digi-Key are only about 50 cents each, so it's still a VERY economical solution. BTW, the Digi-Key part # is P1.0KCDCT-ND. Adding an extra set of SMT pads is probably the way I'm going to go on all future Magic Smoke boards.

| I've also used the Panasonic Tempcos from Digikey. Used a small bit of prototyping board and soldered the SMT onto the board then ran wires to the main circuit board |
