So I've had my nord lead 3 for a while now, and I was traveling with it. When I opened the case, the program change dial no longer was being detected by the nord. It is loose and wobbly and spins with no resistance, so I suspect that it is no longer connected. This pretty much means that I am completely unable to save any new sounds that I create, and to do other important tasks.

I was wondering if and how I would be able to fix this problem myself without completely destroying the synth, but I also have no soldering skills whatsoever. Has anyone else had this problem?

hi souroctopus and welcome

That rotary thingie is vulnerable ... yes Crying or Very sad

It might be repairable , it might be not ... as a Do It Yourself exercise that is ... synth would have to be opened to inspect the exact damage first ... maybe post some pics?

Several times. It's the synths weak spot. Jan will surely remember the London flight of the G2 prototype Shocked
To open the synth see the sticky thread about changing the 110 - 220 V.
Try to find out what dial it is and buy a new one.
Somebody with solder skills should perform the repair, so it can be done.
