I gotta get my hands on the DS-10+ Apparently it now has 4 modular MS10's (or could that be eight?). It also sounds like there is some kind of song mode, or ability to chain lots of patterns together too. I thought that this was only possible manually before?

Long live pocket-sized digital! Very Happy

Shit, I've wanted something like this for years! It's not possible to write down in standard musical notation complex electro-music ideas.

This goes on my next birthday or holiday list!

I have a DS Lite. I'm not sure whether to get the DSi XL (a slightly more costly DSi model that has a bigger screen than the DSi) or wait for the "DS2" (next generation DS, rumored to be released within 15 months).

If you have a DSi, DS-10 + will have double the polyphony. Up to 8 DS units can be synced via wireless connection.

Another reason I'd like to upgrade to the DSi platform is the downloadable apps. Electroplankton, which had been discontinued in cartridge form, was re-released as a DSIWare downloadable app.

Gov, do you use a homebrew card such as the R4? With that, I also can run some amazing DIY software for the DS. Multi-touch would be a 'game-changer' (pardon the pun), and I'd get a DSi XL tomorrow if it had it. As it stands, I have a Tenori-on like sequencer (cellDS), and several other "toys" that make it fun to have something in my pockets besides my hands.

JK, I thought about getting a homebrew card, but acquiring an iPhone put an indefinite hold on that idea.

Heck, I'm still trying to learn how to use Jasuto and find the time to play with Beatmaker.

We make a very unique product at synthrotek that allows you to take anything on the left (or right) channel out of your DS-10 (or iphone or ipod touch or anything that pans) and converts it to clock voltage. Allowing you to connect your DS-10 or ipod, to any modular synth gear you may have. A great way to use your DS-10 with try analog equipment. There should be a whole DS-10 section on the site...

Check out the kits:
