Ok, so here's the deal: I have an ESQ-1 which is no longer functional. The self-diagnostic tells me the motherboard is bad, and everything else I've tested including the power supply is OK, so I believe it. Last time I had it on, I was able to get sound from it, but nothing really worked right. The sound it was playing was coming out as it should with full polyphony however, so I'm pretty sure the "synth bits" themselves (for lack of a better term) are good.

So, to get to my proposal, I would like to trade 4 of the CEM3379's and 2 of the SSM2300's from the ESQ for other parts (keeping the others for my own twisted purposes) to someone else who would find them useful in exchange for other parts I would find useful. I'm just starting out in synth DIY, having done some software stuff and some circuit bending previously, and have no real inventory of parts or anything- so I'm pretty much open to anything useful, from various spare components to enclosures to books, or any mixture thereof. I would propose an even-up trade, with each of us paying the shipping for our respective trade items (that is, no money trading hands, just packages). I would prefer to send my items via USPS (and I assure you I will pack them safely & securely), because there is no UPS or FedEx shipping center nearby. I would also prefer the trade be with a single person, to avoid shipping multiple packages, though if the offers are right I will consider it, because I don't expect shipping to cost much for a few chips.

If anyone has any use for it, I'd also be quite willing to part with the keybed- the keys are in good shape and all work perfectly.

Anyway, like I said, I'm pretty much open to anything (that is, anything related to building synths or effects for synths)- if you have a bunch of spare parts lying around, make me an offer. I'm more interested in both of us coming away with something useful than any kind of profit . I'm keeping enough of both myself to use for my own projects down the road, so I'm just looking to trade the rest in for something else. I'm new here, but I have 100% positive feedback on ebay (known as klangmacher there), and if anyone here also hangs out at KVR, I'm known as synthgeek there. I would be glad to send (or even post here) pictures of the chips I will be sending, or answer any questions you may have.

EDIT: Forgot to mention- I'm in Colorado, USA

Cheers

I'd be interested in discussing a barter with you.

PM me with any ides of what youneed / want, and we'll see what we can make happen. I have amassed a rather diverse collection of stuff, so should be able to come up with sothing(s) that would work out.

found this post from a google search. I know you didn't mention as such in the original post, but any chance you'd be willing to trade the esq-1 display? I just had mine die 2 nights ago. I could trade some sid chips, a midi sequencer, project cases, or various other items. I figured it's a long shot, but worth a try! thanks either way!

Hi tm- just sent you a PM here, I would indeed be willing to part with the display.
