Cool stuff, Shane. Would enjoy hearing those big gongs!
Thanks Kevin... Ive used these gongs a few times on Atmosphera's... and I will always be using them more, as I get more involved with bowing things...like the springboard

What is that?? Looks intriguing! What are the bottle caps for? Sadly I missed your halloween set, I would love to know what it sounds like.
Its called a springboard. A very simple instrument, but with nice results no less. Using a contact mic, the board picks up lots of undetected sounds played on it. You can bow and hit the spring for very nice eerie effects. Also the eye bolts themselves sound nice when bowed. I also attached the gold disks, for bowing. The bottle caps were initially to try to get a buzzing sound when the board was struck. That didnt work so well.. but spinning them makes a nice sound. You can also just hit the board and the things attached for some nice percussive sounds. I run it all through efx processing.
For Halloween, I was live looping the springboard with the Line 6 DL4 with a very long delay setting, which then went into an Alesis quadreverb running ping pong delay and reverb. The Halloween set featured the springboard, and mangled field recordings, vocal noises, and some light synth sounds. I had a little volume issue at the beginning.. so I need to edit the set then I will post it later and put a link here.
BTW, here is Eric Leonardson explaining the instrument in the first of a 4 part series. Looking for more things to bow, I stumbled on to this video which is where I got the idea.
