I started this thread for fun, and to explain some of the techniques I use to create sounds and harmonies.

First out is "Interpretable Waves"

The noise sounds of this track is made by taking
different other SkaleTracker music tracks and playing them
thru a Timestretcher on fast FAST HYPER speed,
so that about a 1 minute track becomes 3 seconds,
and then sampled to a WAVE sample
(the result was kinda cool, and I have used this technique on other
tracks aswell)

Then the noise samples was tracked down in a rythmical
pattern in SkaleTracker, and then rendered as a WAV file again,
and then mastered thru FruityLoops and Timestretched again
to create the static-noise ending of the track Smile

any other specific music piece you wonder how I did, just ask,
I would be happy to share it with you Very Happy

Sorry, I didn't realize "Interpretable Waves" was a track title - thought it was a methodology. I'll look it up !

Bionic Bitch tune -

the fake choirs are actually made with my voice
and vocoded with the crowd sample in the background,
and adding some reverb.

it sounds pretty authentic afterall Very Happy

The middleplay harmonic part/sample is actually
an old track made by me that never reached out for
public consumption, so I recycled it instead.

Was some time ago since i wrote in this thread, so why not do it today :X
Here is an effect that i think is kinda cool (but simple) , first time i heard it
was on a thunderdome CD back in 1994 or something, but first time i
actually practiced it was on the Hydropond III track.

3 minutes and 25 seconds in the seconds i start a basedrum beat
that sounds a bit phased somehow.

it simply done by taking the same samples and play them on 2 tracks
and realign the samples so they are out of phase with eachother.
the effect is never present if you play the 2 tracks for themselves,

but mixing them together creates a most nice phasebeat.
kind of a...manual phaseshifting i guess, but its fun Very Happy

On the track (Systematic Brainflux somewhere in the beginning and the middle part)
you will hear a noisethingie. its not just noise, its actually
MPEG-III glitches.

the sound was created by actually forcing an MPEG packer
to pack down a normal speechconversation between me and
2 friends to 1kbs. (yes, 1kbs, mpeg 3 does not really support that)

while replaying it the player either crashed or gave no sound at all,
but i succeeded in eventually make it work. here is the original wave
as used on the track ;D

Two interesting effects. I've used the first one myself many times, but never the second one. Cool... Cool

I might aswell post a few other stuff here.

Remember the track Symbiosis ? ...posted some time around 2005,
i dont remember myself, anyway. the strange beat that starts around
02:30 in the song, yes, you might have allready guessed it.
its Tracked. ill provide the original XM sheet for the nerds :X

That beat was originally designed for "Hardwired Takeover" track,
but it was not a widely spread track (and not very good) so i re-used it.

You can post XM files without zipping them.
