Mini Wave: Table Tilting

As you know the Miniwave can be externally driven with a ramp wave, the ramp is used as a index for the wavetable.

What if you morphed the ramp wave from a linear wave…

To an Exponential ramp

Then back again

You can do this by putting the ramp wave through a highpass filter, then using an LFO to modulate the cutoff. Be careful not to filter too much and make sure resonance is off.

Here is what miniwave #11 Bank #1 looks like when you highpass modulate the ramp wave.

It sounds kind of like PWM, sometimes like phasing or spectral shifting. Of course you can use any waveform in the miniwave, and instead of LFO modulation, you can use envelopes or just tweak highpass filter manually to dial in an alternative version of the waveform.

If you could modulate the ramp wave from logarithmic to exponential like this…

It would sound incredible, but I can't figure out a way to do this to a ramp wave.

I'm a bit drunk, and I don't know what you're talking about, but those pictures are awesome!

Perhaps I was too vague in my explanation, Sorry for that. This might clear it up.

Please post mp3's! Smile

Reminds me of when I built a pulse+triangle to saw converter: when you apply pwm the saw also changes shape ...but not nearly as nice and flexible as what you're doing.

Ah yes I see now (sobered up). Clever! You can do stuff like this on the Nord Modular G2 too, cool to have it in a real life module!

BTW, are bobborries@mac.com and Vo1t the same person?
