I would very much like to update my Nord Electro 2 and I understand I have to download and install a new USB driver. When I get the USb Driver Update- Zip from the Nord-site there is no .exe file in it! Only a .sys file.
Also my computer does not see my Nord Keyboard.
What am I doing wrong and is it possible to do it in Windows 7?
Thanks for any help....

welcome Joost

A sys file is ok ... when windows sees your device to become connected you can manually point it to that sys file to install the driver.

The reason windows does not see the device being connected usually is that another driver is installed for it already, when this is the case that one needs to be removed first.

To remove a driver for a USB device you need to plug that device in, then you go to the control panel, system, device manager (apparaatbeheer in dutch ... I think).

Another way to get there is to right click on my computer, select properties (eigenschappen) and the select the device manager (apparaatbeheer).

In the device manager search for Sound Video and Game controllers, when there is an existing driver for the electro you may find it there, but I'm not sure what name it would have ... when you double click the item you can find some more info about it, and also you'll find an uninstall option for it there (it will offer you the option to remove all files, something I would do ...).

When it is an existing Clavia driver it will be mentioned as Clavia xx-bit USB driver.

When there is no existing driver to be found it's best to contact Clavia probably ...

Before installing a new driver be sure to have the right driver, depending on if you have a 32 or 64 bit windows.

After deinstalling an existing driver next time you plug the device in it'll ask for a driver; do not let windows do this automatically, but make sure windows will use the sys file you have and be sure that the sys file is the right one for your system.

You may find some more info about the subject in the Nord G2 subsection on this forum - there has been some talk about it in the past for the G2.
