problems with sequencer not triggering !! |
 |
|
Yo..... I was wondering if somebody can figure this out..
I just breadboarded a 4017 based sequencer and wired it up as basic as possible to start on..
Just wired up a l.f.o for a trigger and using 4 steps to test..
OK cool I hear you say..Now state you're business ;]
OK so I have the 4 steps sequentially connected to l.e.ds for visual representation, and then 4 clock outs all tied to the same point using steering diodes to obtain 1 gate out..then the 5th step is tied back to reset.
Now this in my head is super easy but that's not the result.. I tested the trigger out on my synth envelope gen, but only receive 1 note on and 3 off. Now if I disable the last 3 steps and just take the first one it will trigger every time, Then as soon as I add another step it skips.????
I triple checked my wiring, all simple stuff, I even set up a different lfo just to make sure it was a 50/50 square wave generating clocks..
Didn't make a diffy..
I'm Baffled ? |

Forgot to mention..
I haven't buffered the gate outputs yet because M stuck for space on Bread board. Doubt this should matter much yet but then again !! |

My Bad... solved it I think, I needed to put in a couple of nand gates and didn't spot it on the schematic I was looking at.
