You've never heard the claim that certain dielectrics sound nicer? Have you never encountered a guitar pedal forum? Gearslutz? The beeswax capacitor store? Laughing

Oh well, I guess at least that answers my question though, so thank you for that.

Of course, but not in regard to COG vs polystyrene. What is the difference supposed to be?

I dunno, I guess that's what I was asking you. Smile Some people talk about the audio characteristics of ceramic, mylar, styrene, and more exotic configurations, but I'd never heard anyone specifically comment on C0G.

Well, maybe one of these days I can try it for myself.

No, you asked me if I agreed with the opinion that there was a difference. Smile

But by all means, go ahead and compare them yourself. Please let us know how it turns out!

This is in no way a contradiction Smile

I would *imagine* though I have not tested it myself either, that different response curves among different dielectrics *could* have some impact if they were directly in the audio processing path. So I don't think it's necessarily all bunkum from that standpoint. I'd be interested to hear results of testing too--I just haven't gotten to the point of building my filter yet, so it's not on my plate for a bit.
