Being new to Max, I'm curious just how different Max is from Pd.
Max looks much more polished. Does Pd have any capabilities that Max doesn't?

I use Pd, never have used MAX. Though when I see images online, I agree MAX looks more polished.

That's one thing I would like to see more in Pd, updated GUI, snapping to grid, etc. Maybe these things have been developed and I haven't seen them.

Otherwise, I have no idea what the primary differences are.

A book on PD was just released- I think from Pragmatic Publishers.

I haven't used PD myself, and have used Max just a little. Would love to
spend a lot more time with it. I'm amazed at the attractive UIs that some people come up with though.
