Hello

My name's Gerard and I'm a member of the band Cultural Amnesia, a band that's been around for a quarter of a century, though we've spent very little of that actually making music... Our first period was 79 to 83, when we were friends with a boy called Geff who was shortly to turn into John Balance, legendary warped visionary of Coil. Geff, a few years older than us, introduced us to the early industrial scene and all the curious fauna of the underside of post-punk. We wanted to join in, and we did. For about three and a half years we made lots of music and released three cassette albums and appeared on a number of compilations. And then silence. But in 2004, possibly in some relation to impending middle age, we started again and recorded 8 new tracks (in fact there had been a brief get together in 1998). We're pleased with the new stuff and I think we can now be considered back and active and 2005 should see more new things. The website gives full information on the band and there are about 30 tracks in all to download at present, including all the 2004 material (we'll be adding more old stuff periodically).

Of the old material, see how you get on with Materialistic Man (Video Rideo), Blind Rag (The Undertow of Evening), Here To Go (Sinclair's Luck), Fetish For Today (Obscenity).

Of the new stuff, well I'm pleased with it all...

Sadly in November of last year, as some of you will know, Geff/John had an accident at home and died. Amongst the 2004 tracks we have dedicated SeaSong to our old friend and mentor.

I'm pleased to have found Electro-Music.

Best wishes

Gerard
