Mixout-VC Panner problem |
 |
|
I finished soldering the Mixout-Vc Panner module ....
my problems are
1) I'm relatively noob to electronics, so I have the equipment (pure luck) like Votlmeter, Oscilloscope and functiongenerator but regarding circuits I still have to learn a lot
2) channel 2 is nearly deaf ... the input is less by a factor of 100 ... so I see a triangle when testing, which changes if I turn the pan-pod but it's extremely minimal
3) the right channel of the VC-Panner Submodule is completely deaf ...
I send in a triangle, turned the pan - played with the trimmer but on all channels ... nothing
left side works well (except channel 2)
could someone please give me some debugging tipps??
- what should I measure and where??
thanks a lot in advance, _________________ greetings from belgium, Sascha

I co-checked today and can say:
for channel 2: it's not the IC's, I switched all of them today with channel 1 and nothing changes ...
for the right-out:
the TL072 gets +-15V,
I changed him with another TL072 and the right-out stays silent ...
I measured on Pin 1 and no signal is there ....
(yes, I set the pan to the middle)
from all channel-outs I get contact to Pin 2 and R5 ...
R5 is 47k as R6 so I assume its not broken (etching faults)
R5 and the Pins of the TL072 are connected as whel, so I assume no etching faults there too
what should be measured on pin 2 of the TL072?? voltsmeter or osciloscope?? _________________ greetings from belgium, Sascha

Some general hints. The board uses both 100R and 100k resistors, make sure you accidentally didn't have any of those mixed up. Having a 100R instead of a 100k at the feedback path of the op-amp would lead into a lot less gain.
Which tl072 are you talking about? U2 on the "Output & Monitor sub module" ? |

Another update:
I found and followed the singalpath on all channels (for me as noob to electronics this is way good)
f.e. on channel 1:
The TL072 (U102) gets the triangle signal and passes it on pin 1 and 7 to right and left
=> signal comes in on Pin 4 and 13 of LM13700 (U103) and I see the triangle
=> pins 5/7 signal is there (right channel)
=> pins 10/12 no signal (left channel)
hmmm debugging goes on
Update=> I found a solderingbridge on channel 2 =W this one works now like all others
left stays dead R122 shows 0mA all the time, no matter of pan setting
right => R123 panns between 0 and 0.45 _________________ greetings from belgium, Sascha

Great to hear, was about to post that something have to be wrong in the area around U101a/U101b but seems like you have it sorted.
Will begin my build on this one any day now. |
