just wondering if there's any risk of me frying the board with static electricity or whatnot. it's pretty dry here right now and i have noticed more than usual static activity at my place lately. any advice on how to be sure i'm 'grounded' while installing it? am i worrying too much about it?

Caution will never hurt when it comes to static electricy. But, it's easy to "make sure". Components are sensitive, but once they are soldered onto a board, they are far less sensitive to this type of damage.

But touch something that's connected to ground (like a computer case, or any metal case of an electrical device that has a 3-connector power plug) before handling the boards.

all set, no problems. nice to be able to use the synth to its full capability in performance mode. i was stuck running two mono patches and two that were max'd out at 2 or 3 voices each for most of my performances. this expansion is great.

I'll be buying the upgrade soon too... and planning to install it myself
too... good to know that everything worked out fine!

By the way, I see you live in Rochesterx NY... have been there for my job
for the last 2 weeks... leaving on Saturday morning! Pitty I didn't notice
earlier, we could maybe have met up... and I wouldn't have been alone
in the hotel for all those evenings, browsing electro-music.com Rolling Eyes

Greetz,

very interesting, it is too bad that we couldn't meet up. i'm sure you will enjoy the voice expansion for the G2.
