Lemur on sale |
 |
|
iPad Lemur is on sale till 19th (I think). It shows in the app store as NZ$30.
I have my iPad2 connecting to the G2 engine via the camera connection kit and a $12 usb midi converter. Seems to work with the midi wrench app, but none of my other apps transmit midi (except Animoog via an in app purchase).
Is anyone using Lemur with a G2 (via wired midi) and able to comment on how well it works?
Or know of another good app (with or without sound engine) that can act as a midi controller for hardware?
I had high hopes for the free "Control" app (allows writing custom interface using html/javascript that communicates to iPad MIDI) but it crashed after 3 notes and looks abandoned since 2011. |

The template scene is starting to explode. Too lazy to post links here but I've seen templates come out for iVCS3, Animoog, and other great IOS apps, as well as hardware (eg Octatrack). _________________ Current and recent work on Soundcloud

Sorry for the delay in responding to this, Ian. I've been using Lemur for quite a long time and I love using it with a G2. I have used it in wired MIDI mode, but of late I use it wirelessly. The Lemur software includes a very nice driver/program for PC, and I'm pretty sure for Mac too. You can control virtually anything through MIDI and OSC.
I use it not only for making touch-control interfaces, but for algorithmic programming. Once you get used to it, the programming language is very easy to understand and to use. The main trick is to figure out you own programming style, because algorithmic code can be associated with virtually any object (knob, slider, etc).
It's good that they offer sales from time to time, but at full price, Lemur is a bargain. _________________ --Howard
