Micro modular friendly patches |

Does anyone out there still have a Micro ?
Was there every any naming convention used to indicate patches that would work for the MM ?
Are there any tools available that can scan through a directory of patches to determine if they will play on a MM ? |

Nope, but some people did make patches with the micro in mind, there should be lots of 'm actually.

Nope, but it wouldn't be too hard to make such a tool, see http://www.iaf.nl/Users/BlueHell/info/patch303.htm#[Header]

Yep, BUT if someone made a Patch special to the Micro and he was able to keep it below 50%, 2 Voices were possible, wasn't it? I thought the question was special asking for those Patches... That's why I gave these URL's of Patchers surely working with a Micro.

Hmm yes indeed there were some polyphony freaks at work on micro's ... 6 or 7 voice patches even ... ok so it's a bit more complicated to auto find such patches, thank god we have Wout :-)

Doesn't the MM have 1 DSP- which is capable of four notes- max ?
I wrote my program to search for 4 notes or less.
Ok- in reality 4 notes with very minimal patch load, probably isn't very useful, but ... |

Remember Terryfunken's low-DSP pad patches called "8bitOrchestra"? I made a few modified versions as well. These used three LFOs as detuned audio oscs, and varied from about 19% DSP down to less that 10% DSP. _________________ Dave Peck |

There was some competition in creating Voices on the Micro.
I think I found two of these.
I have no Micro anymore (only full Classics), so I can't check if it's alright.

That was one of the things keeping the NM list alive, all this experimenting with minimal suff - we don't do that anymore for the G2 (probablt it's too big for that ?)

Pushing the boundaries, Jan. That is one of the things people love the best.
How many oscillators can you use in the NM Classic?
The G2 is much more a players instrument, although, people are saying that! The NM Classic was more an experimental machine, both to the users as for Clavia itself. I still believe something of the designer's thoughts are really in the object itself...

transforms your Micro into an almost real Schwarzwalder Coo-coo-clock, which tics and coo-coo's on the hour. In the Editor one can read the exact time... |

Nothing in particular at the moment- I've got an MM on the way, and wanted to get some sounds for it so I can check it out- as well as uunderstand what restrictions the MM has for patches
thanks to al who replied to the MM query! |

I had a Micro for about 2 years till I upgraded to a G1 key and added a G2 Engine. I had a HUGE selection of Micro patches I made, with patches up to 16 note poly (still sounded good too!), as well as a ton of downloaded patches I optimized for the Micro.
However their on a HD on my Win-98 machine with a dead motherboard, and no PC's in site aside from a laptop.. if anyone could give me a fix to this situation I'd gladly hook you up... _________________ Studio:

You can always just connect the drive as a slave to another PC- like a computer at work, then copy your files off. |
