problem recording audio via spdif- any suggestions? |
 |
|
I've never had this problem up until now. I wonder if anyone else has had this? And if there is a remedy or not?
I'm trying to record audio via my MD through spdif on my VXpocket V2. I keep getting cracks and pops- something I've only experienced before with USB interfaces. I'm using Logic Pro 6.4.3 on 10.3.9 and Quicktime 7
As I've said, I've never had this problem before. It also does it with other recording apps (Audio Hijack pro).
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

there is a setting for "digital clock" as either internal or external....you have it set to internal, and it should be external. this allows the clock from the incoming digital audio signal to be the master. the clicks and pops are from to 2 clocks not being synced.

| I've also had this problem. What finally solved my issue (even after checking all the clocks) was to connect an alternate GROUND between the two devices. (In my case, it was an Echo Layla receiving SPDIF from an E-mu XL-7). One of the devices might not have had ground connected correctly, because once I also added an audio cable between the two, and all clicks/pops went away. Shouldn't be like this, and it's very strange (I don't think I should share analog ground with digital ground), but it did solve the problem. |

Okay thanks. I'll try both suggestions tomorrow (I'm a bit too drunk right now- need to sleep)- but it's so strange as I've never had this problem before. But I can't work out whether it's been the upgrade from 10.3.5 to 9 or the update to QT7 _________________ ACHTUNG!
