Satellite 5, streaming on demand e-m show |
 |
|
My original electronic music web-radio show on ScrubRadio.com was called "Satellite 5." The story between then and now is mostly boring. The good part is:
Satellite 5 is back, in an improved format.
Everyone is too busy to follow a scheduled live show and some artists don't want their music included on downloadable podcasts.
What's a mutha to do?
This: http://mixlr.com/sat-5/showreel/
I call it Streaming-on-Demand.
I record the show whenever I have time, and you listen whenever you feel like it!
I don't do announcements on all shows but you can see the playlists at http://sat-5.com/
Eventually I'll do announcements on most shows. (I'm a big ham, so I really will.)
The music is (mostly) rhythmic/melodic, genre-defying and surprising. I prefer shorter tunes (it's only a one-hour show) and I love a spirit of fun. But I also like to mix it up. (Confused? Me, too!)
I get music from artists here at electro-music.com and ScrubRadio.com (with their permission) and from ads I place in major cities worldwide.
I'll consider submissions from any independent electronic musician.

Satellite 5 update |
 |
|
UPDATE February 5, 2017
The show is really taking off. I've been getting some amazing submissions and that's all I need in order to have great shows.
There are so many talented, brilliant, independent synth/electronic musicians out there whose music doesn't fit any popular genre.
And Satellite 5 is the perfect home for those misfits.
For the last three shows I had a "featured artist" and played 4-5 of their tunes on that episode. I'll probably do that anytime I find a new artist who has at least that many tunes that I think fit the show.
And I ended the 2-4-17 show with a submission that blew me away, a synthesizer realization of Prokofiev's Opus 10. Wow, wow, wow!
Of course, I also play some AEJOTZ music on the show, but don't let that scare you away.
You're all invited to check out the show, and to submit tunes for the show.
The show favors shorter, synth-y, rhythmic, melodic instrumentals, but the only real rule is: surprise me!
The main website with all info and links is at http://sat-5.com
Or just go straight to the music at http://mixlr.com/sat-5/showreel/
I'm NOT in competition with radio electro-music.com. I even plug electro-music.com when I play music by artists who are members here.
[ Why don't I just do a show here? Because I have a hard time sticking to a schedule. The way I do Satellite 5, I can record the show whenever I feel like it and you can listen whenever you feel like it. In other words, I'm doing it the way that works best for me. ] _________________ AEJOTZ is pronounced "A-Jotz"

I'm not a real Hoosier. I'm a Saint Louisan who seems to be lost. _________________ AEJOTZ is pronounced "A-Jotz"

Closer than most people on here.
Only thing I have to look forward to is a 3 hr drive to gearfest at sweetwater once a year.
I'm in to modular. It's the only time I get to see one other than mine. |

That is my version of a PAIA OZ. Search it, they were cool
They were sold as a kit in the late 60s and 70s
Full pollifonic, not the average home built project. I upgraded mine with delay and phase shift. Thought I would use it to chord, but it has a better solo sound.
Sounds like the cure, love song. Has that discinent punk wishing for death sound.
It does that sound great.

What a pretty asymmetric butterfly! With a defiant Moog thing breaking the linearity at the bottom left. _________________ Antimon's Window
