Ive been noticing an influx of chips emerging back on the market for decent prices. I am not a programmer or engineer.  How much would I be looking at hire someone to build some simple circuits? Such as a filter circuit with an lfo or a noise generator? I know the materials are cheap and some of these are missing only a few parts like resistors or opamps but I dont know realistically how much would someone charge to build some of these simple circuits. Similar to the filterfx on electric druid. Thanks in advance!

The cost of electronic components is never where the bulk of the cost of an electronic device comes from. With the exception of some specialized equipment, very rare NOS components, higher powered microprocessors/micro controllers, or amplifier parts, components are generally cheap.

Hardware, enclosures, build time, and the designer's ideas are what you are paying for. If the design needs to be converted into a PCB layout, that will take an hour to many hours to do.

As for cost to expect, I guess it's whatever you can get someone to do it for. An inexperienced builder/hobbiest may be willing to do something cheap for you, but skilled people tend to be busy and value their time. For many people, a one off custom design is going to cost more than it would seem the device is worth.

Understood. My issue is I wouldn't know what would take an he and what would be 8hrs. Maybe there are some examples of what filters, EGs or noise generators are already being done? I'm really interested in starting relationships with some people who know what they are doing so I can learn and have some essential devices built in the process.
