Was at the thrift store today and bought 2 of these cheesy nature sound alarm clock devices. They were only 99 cents each. Cool thing is, they have a headphone out (and a DC power in, but that doesn't matter so much to me). I have already messed around taking the output (one of like 4 built in recordings) and run it through the mixer/FX, played with the EQ, etc. Next is pedals and other FX, maybe record some stuff to tape and then run it back into the computer.

Does anyone have any other ideas to try out? I'm curious. Maybe I could run them into stereo inputs and blend them and stuff? Have different the different samples mix and move about?

LMK guys!

They look great, but what’s more important is: how do they sound? Rolling Eyes

@Grumble Haven't heard them in the context of a mix/post production scenario yet. They sound pretty great through the mixer with a bit of EQ and reverb, especially if you back off the output volume on the unit a bit. Straight out the unit speaker though... horrible. Idk how anyone was ever able to use this as a sleep device. I completely understand wanting white noise or whatever to sleep to, but the crackle and frequencies produced... NOT. COOL. When I mic it? Who knows? Meh. Worth the 2 bucks...IMO
