What's your favorite hardware synthesizer that you own? |
 |
|
I generally prefer to use hardware over software as it just fits into my workflow better. I nought myself a Sequential Prophet 6 for my birthday last year and I can't stop playing it. With the recent addition of the vintage knob it just oozes analog warmth. What's your favorite synth that you own? |

My Wasp-clone (a Jasper, from the UK dude).
I like it more than the Arturia Microbrute, it's pretty slick.
Mind you, the Easel is hard on it's heels... |

It’s a toss up between a bunch of things...
My Jupiter 6. Lush, rich, unbelievable sounding and can get into some seriously uncharted territory with the cross mod.
MS20- just.... yeah.
My euro modular- it’s a continual learning experience, and I very much enjoy the aspect of having multiple eureka moments within a session.
There’s more, but I’m sticking to 3!! |

I find myself constantly coming back to my Alesis QS8, but for processing/mangling, nothing beats my MS20. |

Favorite Hardware Synth Subject description: Personal Favorite |
 |
|
That's a difficult question for me but I would have to say that my favorite hardware synthesizer is the Moog DFAM. I have a 4-tier rack with two Moog Mother 32s and two Moog DFAMs. I have a very large eurorack system and I really love all of the modules as well but there are so many of them, it's hard to pick out a favorite. I just purchased a TiNRS Tuesday and plan to do some generative patching with it when I can find some spare time for my studio. It could very well become my favorite along with the After Later Audio Benjolin V2. I really enjoy doing generative music. |

It's difficult to pick one synth.
That said, I've been using the Roland MC-101 a lot recently, mostly for the sequencer. That it's small is a good thing, too, even if some of its limitations are a bit frustrating at times. |

Novation Bass Station II for nothing-prepared live sets (though the MicroFreak is starting to intrude as I learn its mysteries).
Nord Micro Modular for ambience and as a companion to a Linnstrument (with a Critter & Guitari Organelle S in line to take over some of that).
For layered sequenced stuff, Blofeld. |

I prefer fx units
but fave synth is probably 101 clone or 303 clone _________________ Sounds arranged idiomatically to form what one may interpret as "music". |
