Putting wren files here. Today is day one on WREN for me. This sound generator may or may not be used to calm creativity modes.

Yesterday. https://youtu.be/1X-K5wLZVK0 Looking back at this, WREN really kinda blew my socks off. I had a good time. I am going to get it integrated into my DAW asap w/loopMIDI and VB-Audio Virtual Cable.

I have never really messed with modular before, except some of this sounds like my REMCO Sound FX machine from my pre-teen years. I have used FX-2.10 ( https://youtu.be/dAnBn18lCmA ) also in the '90s a couple of times.

Cool how you actually play it with the knobs - I always automate that stuff, but this is immediately interesting with a simple patch :)

Hope you'll get it sorted out with VAC ... keep us posted!

For a try I've used Jack to integrate things .. but for myself reverted to standalone use. Anyway, there is a FAQ entry about that @ https://bluehell.nl/wren/#faq - which may be outdated by now :«)

Too bad that that video has no sound (at least here), looks interesting otherwise - especially after reading the comment on it ..

Will have to google a bit - did not know it Rolling Eyes

Sorry that FX 2.10 video is lame. A LOT of my videos are lame. My goal there was to just extremely quickly show the viewer (or myself later) each module and its popup. I think I left an internet archive link in the description salut

THB I never hardly worked with v2. ANd v2 has real-time elements including MIDI in I believe. I only made some sounds with v1, which I wouldn't know where to find. It was 100% offline rendering. Superslow stuff but more fun than I could imagine at the time.

Heyyyahhh. I have been in the hacked G2 Editor (that plays audio) the past couple of days. The big enlightenment for me was finding templates for contemporary synths I was looking for, and imaginative solutions to emulating the MOOG filter. My approach to all this is not for the erector set experience, rather, I hope to make music. Initially, I wanted to emulate Nord Lead 1,2,3. It's expanding a little. So anyway, I may take a shot at re-making these templates in WREN after isolating them. Dumb idea? Smart idea? Reinventing the wheel idea? I am //NOT// concerned with molecular-level accuracy to //ANYTHING//, I just want to make good sounds, endgame. But I choose to stay on the course of things I know I like as long and practicable as possible.

Sorry to ask these q's

1) Is WREN polyphonic?

2) How similar/different/indifferent is WREN's vocoder to G2's?

Yeah I think templates are a good idea!

It's polyphonic, but not every module. They're usually labeled poly or it says in the help.

Edit: removed the mono/poly related info I had typed here and put it in the blog instead : https://bluehell.nl/blogje/forums.html/2022/01/29/about-mono-and-poly/
