In addition to the excellent (theoretical) lesson of prof. Aaron Lanterman I'd like to add a practical approach to flanging.

In his starter post prof. Lanterman is suggesting to add the original signal to the (attenuated/amplified) delayed signal.
Different from what he is suggesting, I take the output of the delayed signal from the BBD (bucket brigade device) and add/subtract it from the original signal using an attenuverter so I can add or subtract the delayed signal from the original signal and feed it back to the input so it can act as a reverb as wel.


In this clip I show the signals coming from my flanger and you can also hear what the different controls do with the sound.
