Should the VU meters in the editor actually work?

Hi, getting seriously into using my MicroModular again having finally got a computer set up near my music gear, and having given up even trying the various OSX editors (I have now got Nord Modular Editor v3.03 running very reliably in Parallels with windows 10) but was wondering about one thing:

Are the VU meters (ie on the audio input module, or the Gain Reduction meter on the compressor) actually supposed to work?! The manual says so, but thinking about it I can't remember ever seeing a level indication (or the peak 'LED' go red) in any version of the editor I've ever used over the years! :-S

Would be useful if I can somehow get it working and see the levels, or at least set my mind at ease to know if it's not functional for some reason Very Happy

I've tried compatibility mode / run as administrator stuff but it doesn't seem to make any difference
