I'm about to start building a strip board version of MFOS Noise Toaster - I'm planning to do something 'creative' with the faceplate layout and would like to include LEDs which light up in response to what's being generated by the Noise Toaster.

I'm not looking for a literal reflection/indication of where a particular pot is, I want it to be much more abstract and chaotic than that. I also don't want it to be a device which listens to the sound coming from the speaker - I'd rather is was 'hard wired' into the outputs from the various modules.

I am however using this build as a learning experience and have absolutely no idea where I should connect wires to on the Noise Toaster in order to take an input for an arduino.

Any suggestions/pointers/examples of reading matter would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello,

I think you are looking for a voltage to current converter to drive the LED's. I am sure you can't connect them directly in to the circuit because they would load the output of the "modules" in the WSG and it stops working properly.

You can find such a circuit in this LFO https://www.haraldswerk.de/NGF_E/NGF_E_LFO/NGF_E_LFO.html . It uses to LED's but you need only one LED because the signals in the WSG don't change polarity. This circuit is also often used in low pass gates to control the LED in the vactrol.

Good luck! Sven

I'm not sure i understand what you are wanting? Do you want LEDs to light up sort of randomly? Are you wanting to add any circuitry or do you just want to put LEDs. You may need a buffer but you might get by with a large resistor in series with a very low amperage LED.
