Stop Re-Trigger and End Of Cycle Triggers?

This is a two-parter, but I feel like they could be related.

I'm looking for a way to stop envelopes re-triggering or to block new triggers coming through while an envelope is still playing out.

I thought what I could do is invert the envelopes output, so it closes a gate/VCA which controls the flow of new triggers, but my attempts have been unsuccessful.

The other idea was to find a way to get an End Of Cycle trigger from an envelope that could (with a pulse if needed) open a gate that lets the next trigger through.

Also trying a version where I use a comparator to detect if the envelope is above 0, then invert that logic output to close the gate stopping more triggers, but I can still hear it re-firing.
