Hi all, long time since I posted here, but I'm getting back into SDIY after a long time doing nothing more than tinkering. I started building up a Behringer 55 system (with a few Fitzgreyve modules thrown in for good measure). I would like to build a simple +/-6V voltage source, I've mocked up a 4HP panel in Photoshop (not to scale), but just wondered how easy it would be to convert this into a format where I could get a panel anodized/printed to match the Moog style panels in the system?

The circuit should be an easy one as it is just a couple of resistors to divide down into the VReg's (78/79L06) which can easily be done on protoboard, but I have never done professional panel design before.

Is there a 4HP Moog style template in any of the panel design packages? Is it easy to do? I know I can do it on Photoshop, but never used any other packages before, can't find panel design tutorials for the type of panel I want to make anywhere.

Attached the design I'm looking to make

so, what i do is lay the panel out in illustrator( or photoshop in your case) and save it as a PDF. there are templates and standards for Moog, you should be able to find those pretty easily. if it's eurorack go to doepfer.com, click on Products at the top and then Mechanical details in the A-100 section at the top, that has the eurorack standards

once I design the faceplate I export the layer with graphics to a new file and save that as a very hi res PNG

I use the Mac program Osmond PCB to make the faceplates and then have a PCB fab house make them for me, it's much cheaper and generally better results. Osmond lets you import PDF files as a template and you can import the PNG file for the silkscreen layer so the graphics are perfect. if you email me at
david@bubblesound-instruments.com I'll go over the specifics.

I print my panels with (mostly) two colors pla+
The characters are embossed so when the printer starts printing the characters, I pause the printer and change color.
For the design I use Fusion 360 for personal use (free, but not to be used for commercial purposes).
