Hello list,

This is an older patch that I used for some performances on the Nord G1 keys. It is based on an FM Piano patch in the archives that I can't recall the designer of for proper attribution. But to be clear, the FM piano here is not my own work. It looks like a substituted a sine bank for some reason, but clearly the architecture is borrowed.
What I added is very simple feedback circuit that is tuned to add gristle to the clean FM piano tunes. You won't be using this to play movie ballads!

For this patch to work, you must:
Route Output 4 to Input 1
Route Output 3 to Input 2

Use Output 1 and/or 2 to your mixer

There are some knob assignments to further tune the feedback. For these feedback patches, note that the amount of feedback in the signal is proportional (though not necessarily in a linear fashion) to the master volume. So, I would recommend turning down the mixer gain somewhat as you explore the parameter space of feedback.

The patch is supposed to sound somehwhat chaotic and out of control, akin to guitar feedback. It uses some delay lines, adjustable, to create movement and avoid overly simple phase effects. A compressor helps make sure there is always some feedback. In more advanced patches, I learned to use a HPF to emulate non-linear dynamics in analogue circuits.

As posted elsewhere, the Nord G1 has much more musical feedback behavior than

Thanks for trying the patch and the "positive feedback".
