...long time lurker from the old 404-NM1 days, recently traded in my NM1 for a G2... unbelievable, I really hope clavia gifts us with some OS updates/new features. Even if they don't, the G2 is such an improvement over the old modular (which I still miss, every beastie is unique after all...) that I could live with what they've given us to date.
NM1 was so much fun...I didn't even know about the nomad project, am kicking myself for selling it, and not just donating it to those responsible for their work on NoMad.
I found the e-m list after the purchase, good to see some names from the old 404 list as well as a great community from the G2 era.
So far (no time) I've been thoroughly exploring the 1.4 presets on my Nord, especially Dasz's sequencers. One of these days I'll hit the editor full-time, check out the most recent patch archive, and begin to actually understand what's new with the g2....
as yet... hmmm.. spectrum tilting... verrrry interesting...
fwiw i no longer listen to the radio... preferring to set up odd noodles and listen to them instead...
Also... is it just me or do these synths really shine once they've been discontinued? Not that I consider the G2 to be in that class (yet).
okay okay... I'll post a patch... though it really should be a testament to the flexibility of these preset patches, rest assured they WILL rock dancefloors... am i wrong? (thanks dasz) tweaked just a teeeny bit so I don't feel like a total ass... (really this is Dasz's patch, forgive me...)

ah, yes I too was a lurker on the code 404 maillist before I got into heavy patching, and only after meeting mosc in person I joined EM.

By the sound of it you did get the G2 keyboard, yes? Patches are so much fun to tweak outside the editor !

 many of my factory patches were made cheezy on purpose, as I did not want to tell the world about what makes my sound, my own ... perhaps one day I will ... but they are good starting points for exploration  I do like the tweaks on variation 2,4 and 7 ... now add some more modules !!!
I do think there is a lot of value in Roland Kuits techno patches (I would have held back some of them if I was him, but ...) -- a great place to explore... see

Me neither, I do not buy CDs at all ... I listen to other people's music (at their house or car or -- I do not deal with rouge mp3's)

I'd say no ... start asking questions, patching and asking more questions and patching ... this community is great for getting inspiration. The g2 ads should say:

It is so great we have a NM1 to G2 converter, so you do not have to lose your old NM1 patches ...
Speaking of closets, I am still in my closet (my gear closet) .. this is the place I have been making music for 5 years -- including those G2 Factory patches ...
