yeah, but you have to understand Dutch (better: Flemish) and listen real carefull. It's the mp3 of course, and possibly 'text' is a better word than 'lyrics', but it's funny.

...........[I cannot make out the first word] those leaves then, until they withered, or, they didn't appear fresh [anymore]. And so you notice that the flower's energy had transferred into the water. And how do you determine, as therapists, what kind of [?]blossom is the best match to the people? For me, the best way is.... talking to the people. [Etc etc etc etc].

Hard to translate. Just some silly conversation, but I think it's very funny.

Hi,

I have an expanded G2 keyboard and when I load this I Get "No Voices".

Anyone any ideas why?

Cheers

The patch was made over a year ago, so on some older software version, very likely. Sometimes when new software is released the DSP details for modules will change, so when a certain patch is on the edge, DSP wise, it can over it using the new software.

Usually such a patch can be made working again by deleting some stuff, or by replacing it with cheaper modules. Sometimes that's very hard though.

Andy,

In case you are still worried:

you can easily check if the expansion is working by making a patch that uses over 50% (but less than 100%) of one of the dsp resources. That patch should give you 4 voices on an unexpanded, 8 voices on an expanded G2 (proveded its the only active patch).

It does not have to be a working patch, just throw in some expensive modules, like a vocoder, for quick results.

When you get no voices at all for a single patch that means you (or someone else in this case) exceeded some DSP limit somewhere in that patch.

HI Jan,

Thats a good tip, I did this and got 8 so it looks ok.

When I load the 48 band vocoder I get a VA reading of 100.0.

I changed the OSCA that feeds into the brightness module to a OSCC module and the VA goes down to 98.6 and it now works.

I will keep an eye on the VA setting from now on.

I am gradually getting my head around the G2, its a versatile machine are all clavia machines this well designed?

All the best and many thanks for your help.

Andy

euhm... I'm a bit confused here scratch

Do you mean that this patch doesn't work on
an expanded G2 with OS 1.32?

(I still haven't upgraded to v1.32...)

I'm confused about this patch. It seems to me that although it's splitting the audio into three bands (hi/med/lo) via the multimode filter, it's just sending the results through three instances of the standard 16 band vocoder. Is it really 48 separate frequency bands? Or are there just three bands at 20 Hz, three bands of 60Hz, etc., with two out of each group of three bands not really doing anything (the 20Hz bands in the vocoders connected to the mid out & hi out won't get any signal, etc.)?

No it doesnt work on my expanded G2 ver 1.32.

If I change the OSCA to an OSCC it works though.

Cheers

Damn, didn't know that Sad i'm still one v1.30
it's already the 2nd time an OS upgrade requires a higher DSP-load!

when you read the "what's new" in the release notes it says

4. What's new in V1.32
----------------------

Version 1.32 is a minor update that solves two issues with version 1.30.

One is that the Mac OS X version was crashing when running together with
some other applications and with some MIDI drivers.

The other is that the Note Detector would trig on the local keyboard even
if the slot was not assigned to receive keyboard events.

but it seems they've changed more, because this patch works on v1.30 and not on v1.32 scratch
