Some time ago I had the idea to try to compose Minimal Music on the Nord Modular G2 synthesizer. I finally programmed two performances with sequencer patterns and simple sound sources using basic principles of composing that artists like Steve Reich used in the 70s.

The results are not sophisticated compositions yet, but I thought that some of you might be interested to hear these experiments:

I would be interested to learn what you think about these recordings and whether anyone else has tried to compose Minimal Music with the NM G2.

I liked these. The 1st one is more what I'd have in mind when you say Steve Reich. I like the 2nd one, especially. Good work. Can't wait to hear some more.

Here's a self playing piece by Terry Riley. I hope it works, I it don't have the G2 hooked up right now and can't test it. If it doesn't, I'll send another patch.
