Legato sequencer help |
 |
|
Hey guys,
I'm trying to create a slide/legato sequencer. the idea is I want it to generate both non overlapping and overlapping note out events to trigger (non overlapping notes) or glide (overlapping notes) other synths (x0xb0x or waldorfxt).
The attached prf2 does the trick almost (if all notes are sliding, every so often a note is retriggered even though I want the slide to be continuos).
It is a bit waste full in terms of dsps as I am using sequencers to hold my notes and I need multiple ones in order to send short or overlapping notes, as well as distributing the notes in case one hold multiple consecutive slides.
Can someone help? I really want to figure out why every so often a note is retriggered?
Thanks!
/Dasz
ps.: I wish the g2 had a midi clocked envelope where you could specify the length in ticks to hold a gate open.

Nice one dasz, this whole g2 legato midi sequencer has puzzled me too. What you need to achieve is clearly send another note on before the first note off, clearly easier said than done though. Would love to see a solution to this one. _________________ iP (Ross)

Ross,
This patch does do the trick, but not always. I use multiple short and long note sequencers as interrupts to trigger and hold the notes, and they alternate faster than the length of time they hold. But for some reason this does not work 100% of the time.
Any ideas?

Just had a play with your patch.. I think the problems are caused by trying to slide notes of the same pitch (e.g. just holding a note), I had similar problems on a few attempts I have just been playing with and thus have nothing to add really. Its certainly a tricky one indeed. _________________ iP (Ross)
