I did some more research regarding the differences in sound between the old NM and the G2... actually i know now that the NM1 dont sounds better but reacts smoother in certain FM settings.. This applies especially to the Spectral oscilator..the one i used most of the time on the old NM...
By now it seems to be possible to patch the NM1 behaviour on the G2..but it needs quite a few extra modules...
The fix of Rob Hordijk that gets some snappines back is just a part of this projekt...
I am still working on it but the original spectral osc behaves in a lot of areas different to the shape osc...

For now a little fix for the FM mod input... I ve to combine that with the other fixes to reach a perfect spectral osc emulation... A bit expensiv but as it seems now possible...

I roughly added robs snappy fix..but its still not the same as in the NM1...
The snappy factor is on the NM spec Osc dependend on the pitch for example...
Especially when having sounds that use FM its actually quite important to have this precise to convert a patch from the NM1 to the G2...
without that the G2 allways sounds roughr than the similar patch on the NM1... ts all about the wright patching.. but i still vote for the return of the original Spectral OSc´s algorythm...

As soon i find the time i try to complete this..but i post the patch allready because it might be a good startpoint for others that have transfer issues..

regards
Sven

May I use this for the "Module Reference Comparative Table"?

I had to give up...i wasnt able to simulate the FMA behaviour of the NM with the G2 !!!...
So as it looks now it is not possible to have an acurate conversion of NM1 patches that use an FMA input...

That is bad...

Further tests show that the shape oscs have some nasty highfreq content that make them not sounding nicer than the old spectral oscilators... especially when FM is involved... When you filter that you need extra resources and the level of high pitched notes gets

After all my tests i can say that we really lost something with the spectral oscilator
