Nord Lead 2 recreation? help please |
 |
|
Hello - can anybody point me in the direction of (or if they fancy it build one!) a nord lead 2 patch for the G2? - I created an incredible stuttering eastern reed flute sounding thing with a lead 2 I borrowed just before I recently bought my g2 - the sound is an absolute must have for me and I've tried to recreate the lead 2 on the g2 but it won't make the same noise - it's the kind of noise that sounds like a lucky fuckup of the architecture so I don't know if it's really creatable but if anyone has a really accurate patch of the lead 2 I'd be very grateful
Cheers

there are a lot of PRESETS inside the G2 with NL, NL2 and NL3 suffix... those are done using nord lead templates. I also use them for new patches for nord leads.

Do you have an audio clip of the NL patch? |

Done a little record this morning.. just a little parade of some NL2/3 presets. Starting from distorted bass are all patches of mine using those schematics with a distortion added to the filter.
Listen Now!!!

Nice demo, Luca. I like to hear other people noodling on their synths. _________________ --Howard

yeah, it is a nice demo. you seem to have a knack for this! your video demo of the G2 after you'd just gotten it was fantastic, too. |

recording of this horn thing |

Hi all - thanks very much for your advice - not managed to get the sound yet though I've been dicking around with a NL2 preset in the g2 - doesn't seem to do it and I think it may be a kind of useful 'fault' or something in the original nl2 -
here an mp3 of the noise anyway - any ideas gratefully appreciated
cheers

this sound comes from an NL2 or a G2 with nl2 template?
cheers,

Sounds like xmod and phase sync, one of my favourites. The only tricky thing about reproducing this on the G2 is the exact amount of modulation. With this ‘threshold of chaos’ type thing, I sometimes patch a fine modulation amount control. There can be a lot of interesting settings within a very narrow range of adjustment. |

just curious, ian, what do you use to patch the 'fine modulation amount control'? mixer, amp, adder? none/all of the above? |

This is one way
The modulator signal goes to the LevelMult input and the mixer coarse in, output from the mixer. The 1/64 scaling constant can be reused for any other sections. |

hello - here are 3 photos of the 3 main sections of the synth - that way you can see the exact perameters - it seems that it's all down to hairline settings of the 2 lfos, the mod amount, the osc pitch, the fm amount and the pulse width - a slight deviation of any of them stops the cool stuttering sound that I like so much - if you can do a g2 of this I'd be so eternally grateful - playing live on the 10th of sept and still have loads more patches to write plus make video for both my groups - ultra time consuming + I have full time job and family! -
cheers very much

crueltwist, would you please resize your pictures to something <= 800 pixels. These wide pictures make it very hard to read to topic.
Thanks... _________________ --Howard
