hi g2 community, I just got the nord modular g2 a couple of months ago, i´m trying to synthesize a bass line to make psycho (full on, progressive) but my sound is not clear as i would like. i´ve try many things, at the end a came to the idea that the compressor is the main thing here, but or i don´t know how to use it, or there are some other facts that i have not taken for the synthesis. I attached one of the patches i have made may be one can make some modification to it to make it sound better.

Any one have some recommendations for bass lines, make them sound deep, surrounding, percussive and clear?

You are off to a good start. I'd suggest having the LPF track the pitch of the oscillators, and turn up the resonance a bit.

Also, your sequencers have the triggers always on. Turn a bunch off to let the line breathe.

He can't do that as this bassline is a flag-symbol for the kind of music he wants to create. But i agree that he is in a good point,a little bit of eq perhaps...

I can't see your patch right now, so you may be doing this already ... for deep bass, add additional oscilator tuned an octave (or more) below your fundemental ..

some level of distortion to the bass patch can help too ...

And to make it jump out, you could introduce it as a side chain of a compressor running the other parts, and that will turn down the other stuff when the base is in effect ....
