Does anybody have anything that approximates that dusty vinyl effect or a radio tuning effect (a la Wish You Were Here minus the actual voices)? I'm not even that concerned that they sound realistic - in fact, I'd rather they didn't; better to have an unusual synthetic sound rather than an attempt to recreate something which I could just sample if I wanted a true recording. I'm looking to incorporate it into that sort of out-of-tune delicate fairground organ sound that is used a lot by bands like Mercury Rev, Sparklehorse etc.
Cheers
Angus

In http://electro-music.com/forum/viewtopic.php?highlight=radio&t=6741 I posted the patches that then were in the noodle radio (as a zip). One of the patches is a control patch, easiy distinguished by having the word "control" in its name. That one makes some radio like inter chanel sound stuff, maybe you can use part of it. It can be controlled from FX sectiion, in the upper left corner there is a constant module labeled "selection". In the voice section you'll find the audio input, now set to external input but it could use a bus instead. You could drop a lot from the FX section, as most stuff is for automation and patch selection on a 2nd G2. In fact I think you could throw out the whole FX section and use the yelowish colored constants in the voice section o control the patch. Hmm its a bit messy I'm affraid :-)

Angus,

For that vintage dirty LP sound, check this out:

A very quick-simple example of ring modulation sounds like a radar receiver.
