Hi.

First post, I just got my G2 a few days ago and have had a blast programming patches for it. I've run into one slight problem. In a particular patch I have three LFOs of different waveforms. I can't seem to figure out how to get all three synced to the same rate, using the sync output and reset input I''ve only had messy results.

Ideally I'd like to have all three LFO rates controlled by a single knob on the G2, I initialy I figured I could do this using a morph group, but again the results are not workign correctly.

Do any of you seasoned Nord modular users have any tricks to do this?

thanks

-don

Luca

Sure no prob. Heres a quick patch that demonstrates what I'm trying to do. (Hopefully this uploads right, first time doing this).

Heres the jist, I would like to have a switch that switches between 3 different LFO waveforms and a Noise source. I could solve the problem by using a single LFO and the waveform dropdown, but that adds an extra control. I've built a patch that emulates the controls of a SH-101 and its pretty much done except for this problem.

I just can't seem to figure out how to utilize the RATE input on the LFO-A module.

Thanks!

Welcome don to electro-music.com

It all depends on what you want to do exactly, so it's best indeed to post the patch here.

Some genral remarks then :

You could indeed use the morphs to tune several LFO's with a single knob, but its easier usually to use a constant module that you run to the frequency control inputs of the LFO's. Alternatively you could use LFO's synced to the master clock, only LFO B and the shape LFO can do that but since you tried syncs you'll probably be using such an LFO already.

You could try to sync the LFO's with a reset pulse so that they only get syncedwhen the patch is loaded (or changed), A reset pulse can be just a constant module set to some positive value. This way they can run at more complicated frequecy ratios without doing strange.

It seems that the LFO-B module does not have a random waveform, which is critical in this application. Maybe the morph is the way to persue this, I'll hit the manual again Smile
