i´m on building a bass line with the g2. its a bass with fast attack and decay and is playing 16ths in fast tempo. i get a clip that oscillates. it stats to hear and bodering the clip that i want for getting this fast attack effect desired. i thought of connecting the triger to the sync of the oscillator but now the sound loses clarity.

try it, put a low pitched sawthood, envelope with fast attack and fast decay. a LP filter with an envelope with again fast decay modulating the pitch, with one sequencer module play 16th notes in around 130bpm or more.

any idea?

Errn how low and how short exactly ? Then calculate if one period of the wave form still fits in the envelope window. When it doesn't another solution might be needed ...

Maybe post the patch you're not happy with.

Syncing the oscillator with the key trigger stops the random clicking but like you say, the result looses some of the ‘edge’. I think this is due to the oscillator phase starting at zero. A couple of things to try would be substituting a LFOB for the oscillator, also synced to trigger, then use the phase knob to dial the right amount of click back in.
Another option is to just mix in a little of a fast decay envelope into the pre filtered audio, or use the envelope indirectly to a few ms sweep of the synced oscillators frequency.

hi, i made what you said g2ian, it work in a way. look. i made a patch to compare the difference using a osc2 and LFOB. i set the wave in the lfo in a way that eliminates the clip only if it sync with the trigger. look at it. tell me what you think or if you modify it to make it better.
the problem of using the lfo as source is that it loses some of the brillians that make sawthood particulary nice or what do you think?

the secon patch is the same but with some extra filters and a compressor to give some more punch to the sound. the compressor, i still have my doubt if it could be better set to have a better sound. look at it. see the difference deactivating the sync.

this patches are done for working in slot A, or chage the midi chanel of the note send module.

Interesting, the LFOB/OSC difference sounds like the osc is not reset at a zero crossing like I thought. The LFOB does have a different sound quality.
That second patch is some serious kick ass bass.

I usually put the amp envelope before the filters, so they cut out the envelope click. Try it... it usually gives a cleaner sound. Very Happy
