Oooo... This is really nice. I like it a lot. I like the way it slowly builds throughout, slorta like Ravel's Bolero. This one is a keeper...

good track..enjoyed it
2 points..the mix...seems 'insistent'..too loud and the bass is really pushing the limits..kind of forceful in the wrong way and stressing the space, kind of over-filled
the drum sounds..specifically the kik and snare...the snare sounds hollow and phased...is it a stereo sample converted to mono ?
same withthe kik..and the kick also seem to have too much emphasis on the attack and not enough on the decay and release [perhaps a symptom of the 'insistent' bass line] _________________ Spiral Recordings |

A good one. I tend to agree with Paul, but this does not attract to much attention from the truly good stuff. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I like most of the tracks you post on this board and this one's no exception.
I think the drums are nice, the only problem I think you have with this track is when the other string comes in at 1:06 & 1:58 it's a bit thick, nothing some eq'ing can't sort out though.
Good one!

I'm glad you guys liked it!
Paul, you nailed it. Funny how you don't notice some of these things until someone points it out. I tweaked it a bit and reuploaded the track. The bass might still be too loud, though. The room I use is very inaccurate with the bass (I need some traps). The mix sounds cleaner to me.
If you all would give another listen, I'd appreciate it. I just updated the original attachment. _________________ www.avanvranken.com |

Sounds better to me.
There is more detail, also to the end where it builds up to the climax at the end. |

Not so bad mate! Does build up a good head of steam, lots of intensity at the end there.

I'm now listening to 'Still', which was kicking around on my hard drive, not causing anyone any trouble.
And it's fine! It's got that end of the day, coming home on the train, tired chilledness which you seem to specialise in. Thanks!
