Herne Bay lies in Kent and the recording was made today(!). It's a shingle beach (pebbles), with small (knee-thigh high) waves, breaking in quick succession and sweeping from right to left.

The recording has been topped and tailed, so that the levels are roughly the same at the beginning and end (I had to lose the first 90 secs anyway, due to a dog), but it is otherwise unedited and unprocessed.

The tide is receding, with high tide having passed a couple of hours before.

M/S stereo, with mics set to 150 degrees.

wow! the stereo is brilliant on this one.
If I rotate my headphones 90 degrees it's like I'm standing in the water Laughing
(will try it with some speakers later).

Forgot to say: The recorder was about 2.5m (8') from the sea at the start.

Beautiful! Works great with the AmbiophonicDSP BTW. I love the bird that comes in for a brief appearance. You've got stereo recording down pat.
