NYE 2019/2020 live streaming event Subject description: signup is closed |
 |
|
Around and around we go, or actually it is more a spiral, and apparently it has significance to complete a rotation or a number of them.
Rotation #2019 has almost completed or is it #2020 ? I always get confused about when the counting started, did it start at 0 or 1 ?
I guess it is a rather arbitrary number anyway so let's just have another event and play some music!
This event will be on electro-music radio on Tuesday December 31st 2019.
It will start somewhere around 15:00 GMT and end whenever it is over depending on the number of participants.
Stream ops please respond if you're able to help switch and what time range you are available. Also december is always a bit hectic for
me and this year more than ever so if someone would like to help out with the organisation of this event (keeping an eye on this thread,
update the wiki and whatever else is needed) that would be most welcome.
As always, if you are interested in performing, please copy/paste this Sign-Up template and post in this thread:
1. Preferred Start Time (Please use GMT/Military Time):
2. Set Length (30 or 60 minutes):
3. Artist Name (For displaying on the poster):
4. Chat Name (if different from artist/forum name):
5. Location (City/State/Country - Optional):
6. Description (Style/Genre/Equipment, etc. - Optional):
7. Website Address (Optional):
8. Anything else you like to mention:
For reference, this clock could be useful:
First Time Streamers Please Read:
Please review the Electro Music Copyright Policy
Please note: "Preferred Start Time". We will do the best that we can to accommodate people to their requested times. However, please be flexible because this event will have European and American musicians in many different time zones. Time slots will be on a semi-"first come-first served" basis. Furthermore, please post your time in GMT. The handy clock should make it simple. However, we do use military/24 hour time. It will undoubtedly be an international event and GMT is the only way to coordinate such events.
As in the past, the chat room will serve as an invaluable communication tool for set up, streaming, and connecting to those listening....and it's just a lot of silly fun! I suggest participants get familiar with it in advance, if you aren't already.
If you want a recording of your set, it would be prudent to record your own set, rather than depend on others. Accidents and mistakes happen...especially in this format. There are many ways to record your set, either thru the stream app or record your stream from your mixer on the signal path to the computer.
Performers MUST stream at 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz , stereo.
more info about broadcasting on radio.electro-music.com can be found here.
It is IMPERATIVE that everyone test their connections before we start streaming. At least 24 hours before but sooner is preferred. Sorry, but we can not guarantee that musicians will be allowed to stream if you do not test 24 hours before hand. Not only does it delay the schedule, but causes unneeded stress on performer, server operator, and audience during performance time. Join the chat room for testing and help setting up.

It started at 1 .. but yeah it does not matter really .. if only it were for just being less than .2% off .. so eh .. where was I .. ah .. I will be around .. deo volente, of course, to switch, and to listen, and to air some sounds - wil do a proper signup for the latter later on.
Edit: but then again .. there were billions of years before baby jesus first saw light .. or maybe he really was his father .. but then we are counting wrongly. _________________ Jan

1. Preferred Start Time (Please use GMT/Military Time): When I'm awake.
2. Set Length (30 or 60 minutes): I'm flexible; whatever fits within the schedule.
3. Artist Name (For displaying on the poster): MusicMan 11712 (aka Dr. Steve)
4. Chat Name (if different from artist/forum name): iSteve
5. Location (City/State/Country - Optional): Upstate New York, USA
6. Description (Style/Genre/Equipment, etc. - Optional): Usually I play an assortment of sounds using usb controllers --> MIDI Gear (sometimes soft synths). Sometimes my "set" has tonality; sometimes it has rhythmic elements; sometimes it is political; often it isn't. Often it has major (and minor) elements of randomness (just like life itself). I never know what I am doing from moment-to-moment, even if I have made definite plans for the whole performance and have rehearsed a number of times.
7. Website Address (Optional): None at present
8. Anything else you like to mention: As always, I will try to work out all potential technical glitches ahead of time, but despite the best of my intentions, something will probably happen that wasn't planned. |

test port |

Hi. I read the streaming wiki over a few times and I am still unsure what port to test on. I'm using Edcast which is a shoutcast streamer so I think I'd be on the sc_serv model.

Hi, saw you were in chat .. but at a time people there were sleeping.
Port assignment and schedule is in the wiki at :: http://electro-music.com/wiki/pmwiki.php?n=Radio.NextSpecialEvent
and your connect info is :: 8134 public 3 with username public and password public .
When no one is available to listen you can test your own stream if you want by going to :: http://electro-music.com/~janpunter/play.php?port=8134 make sure you are streaming at mp3 44100 stereo with a stream rate of 128 kbps.
When edcast is not working properly you can try BUTT :: https://danielnoethen.de/butt/ _________________ Jan
