Nord power comsumtion Subject description: trying to figure out |
 |
|
I'm trying to figure out how many watts I'm using with in studio. Usually this information is found in the device manual, but I can't find this basic info in the Nords.
Currently I'm interested in knowing the watt usage for the Nord Rack 2X, Nord Rack 3 and Nord Modular G2.
Please if someone knows how much do they consume, let me know.
Thanks _________________ Cheers,

A simple answer would be to look at the fuse, which tell us the machine will stop working using more power as 230V x 0.125A = 28.75W.

The hard way to find out is shutting down all other equipment in the house for the next month and search for the figure you have to pay on the electricity bill afterwards. Divide that figure by the amount of money which 1 kWh costs, Divide this by 744 (hours in the month of march), Divide the outcome by 1000 (kilo) and you know the Watts! This all becomes much harder when, like over here in The Netherlands, you have to pay the electricity company in advance and once a year... To Measure is to Know!

Thanks for the info Wout. Unfortunately my knowledge of electronics is far from good, I'll try to find the fuses and do the math.
I want to buy an UPS to protect my computer and synths, and I don't want to fall short.
You have to pay ONE YEAR in advance?? wow! that's a lot of money at one time!
Now that I have you here I would like to ask you a question out of topic. Recently a guy asked me if the Nord Lead 3 was a good synth to emulate typical J.M.Jarre analog sounds. Then I started to experiment and I ended up making Equinoxe V nearly complete, using only the Nord and mixing / effects from Cubase.
The question is, will it be any copyright problem if I posted the song in the forum (as an example of what can be done with a Nord Lead 3)? Since I tried to make it as close as the original, it sounds quite similar.
