Some scuttlebutt in theremin forums are claiming jazz and the theremin ain't possible. It's also being said that there ain't no theremin players playin' jazz. I refuse to dignify them squares with a response. Since them theremin forum octagon-heads are blind to the truth, let 'em seek whatever cool they can find among all them they claim don't swing.

Since I ain't never had to prove "note one" at electro-music, you will know the truth. You can pick up on what I'm puttin' down. Theremin jazz lives.

Dig on this, if you've a mind to.

Never_03.mp3
 Description:
This crazy paradiddle's called "Never Never Land" from Peter Pan. It features a way-gone Tara Buzash on piano. Theremin starts like a sax, then acoustic bass, then a stratospherized theremin.

Cruella_B.mp3
 Description:
Knock a little digital effect on the theremin and it's a gasser. A live-in-person audience blaster. In "101 Dalmatians" the far out evil chick with the skunk-streaked wig, Cruella DeVille - her theme song.

Laughing it's not exactly my kind music, but it certainly proves the statement to be false ... still I liked the singing in the 2nd recording, and the stratospherized bit too.

Obviously not a musician. There will be a place for such infidels at Guantanamo Bay, but you guys gotta send home the muslims first though.

Btw, that old school jazzz work is brilliant. Well done.

Oh shit! My feeble mind just grasped that these particular songs might be a very evil copyright infringement as we haven´t and won´t be paying the license fees.

Shocked

Do you guys know if these pieces are now in the public domain? Shocked

Will there be suicide bombiers from ASCAP and the RIAA on my door soon?

Shocked

At. like, the risk of blowin' my own horn... man, like, it is I playin' the theremin.

But what a potential bring-down, like, this was just for, you know, entertainment purposes, nothin' for sale or covert. So, man, like, as regards infringements and licenses (the "Uh-Oh" factor), like, I'll pull the stuff down if I have, like, fauxed a big pas. Just wanted to spread the musical peanut butter into all y'all's earholes.

Howard, you may have to, like, arbitrate and I shall abide by your wishes if you say these tracks got to go.

wonderful tracks.

As these are older tunes, they just might be in the public domain. I don´t know. If they are, then please let them hang in here. A good start is to figure who wrote them and when.

Jazz is impossible to do on the Theremin? Laughing

Always great to hear you play, Kip!

Hahahah... some of the people who say that jazz isn't playable on the theremin believe that classical music is! Rather amazing when you think about it, huh?
