band pass mode |
hello, I've had an andromeda for two weeks now, and absolutely love it. it's more intuitive than I had thought. modulation by destination makes sense, and the individual mod buttons make it easy to get a quick view of what's going on and make changes.
one first question though (there will be others), the old trick of overdriving a band pass filter sounds phenomenal on the andromeda, but there's one thing I can't figure out. I wanted to connect the two filters in series and have the bandpass output from filter 1 be routed to filter 2. I chose bandpass as filter 2 input. the manual says that unlike the notch output (the combined level of the filter 1 high and low pass filters from the post filter mix) the level of the band pass filter will not effect the volume of sound coming out of the band pass filter and into filter 2. this seems to be the case, but when I reduce the volume of the band pass filter so as only to hear the output from filter 2 and crank up the frequency and volume of filter 2 to hear what's going into it, the volume is low, there's no distortion from the overdrive circuit, and it doesn't sound like the input is coming from the band pass filter (i.e. it doesn't sound like what comes directly out of the band pass filter in the post filter mix).
wow, sorry, that was a long description. is this normal? am I missing anything? thanks |
