3. Smallest adapter.

There are some strange DIP to SOIC adapters. They can be used however opposite way - as an SOIC to DIP adapters. It is little hard to get such pcbs, but still possible.
This adapter has the smallest footprint - almost like IC socket. But for this adapter we need special pin connector - SMD 1.27 x 2.54 mm dual row header.
As such connectors are rather rare and may be expensive, I have used more common and cheaper SMD 1.27 x 1.27 mm dual row header and cutted it in half.
Cut was made with Dremel-like microdrill (actually: Proxxon IBS/E in the Proxxon MB200 drill stand) with thin rotary saw (Watch your fingers! Mine are OK.)

First you need to solder 1.27 mm pins to the pcb (check that they are in one plane - you may solder only one pin for every header and then correct levels).
Next solder pins for the IC socket. Last solder IC directly to the 1.27 mm pins.
