Since forever! Very Happy

Have you been to Kutztown?

It has gone through some substantial upward revision since Dr. Phill Reed became an astronomy professor here in 2008 at the same time I started teaching computer science, and upward revisions since he invited me to start using it for computer music and visualization in 2011.

We had the two-day KU Computer Music and Visualization Conference there in June 2015, with a lot of Electro-Music festival goers attending and performing. Steve Mokris has posted videos of the entire weekend here.

We've had in-semester, campus-and-community evening concerts almost once a year, always with an invited performer or two from the electro-music community. This spring the theme was acoustic and processed acoustic music featuring (my banjo-teacher from 1971-72) multi-genre multi-instrumentalist, also had a faculty member on electronic bagpipes & a grad student on processed harp and live visualizations. Spring 2016 our guests were Steve Mokris & Jaymie Strecker of Project Ruori, with their videos posted here.

These things are always free. I even managed to get a grant to pay for dorm rooms in June 2015. Even without the grant, they are really inexpensive.

This summer the building is undergoing renovation & closed to the public. I may do some kind of electro-music workshop in summer 2018 or 2019 if I get enough wind in my sails. It won't be a standard concert event, more of a collaborative workshop aimed at teaching or exploring novel techniques to composition and using the space. I have to get the new spatial sound system and the newish laser projector in gear first. That will take some time because of all the other duties & hobbies. Cool

Still here. Came back to visit as a result of mistakenly and haphazardly formatting my HDD containing the entire NMM library I compiled years back. Once again, to the almighty and foreboding interwebs to scavenge through mostly dead links.
