I'd like to start a chuckin' group in Thailand. |

Hey there all folks..
i'd like to tell you more about music industry here in Thailand.
there are not many experimental / art music communities around here in Thailand..
so i'm quite chuckin' lonely here. hahah.
i'm now gathering more dudes that might enjoy chucking..
mostly computer/engineering students that like music.
i'm like a chuck representative around here -_- (although i'm just a cute little newbie)
but well.. i'm going to make it happen here..
atleast a live-coding community.
i'll tell you more about the progress here.
my friends and i have just set up a new community in website passionsound.com
there'll be a meeting soon.
i'll prepare some chuck performance there.
...
so.. stay tuned. |

oh! thanks a lot Tony.
There have been some experimental / art music / indie rock shows
and some Visual exhibitions (cooperating with Sound Artists)
There'll be an informal casual meeting of www.passionsound.com very soon.
(The web has some recent news on computer techologies for multimedia & art)
I'm also participating in the party, we're holding it in a DJ club
and gonna introduce chuck for live performance for the community ^_^
not many people around here knows about chuck right now..
i hope this event will expand the electronic musician and media community here in Thailand.
and there must be more events coming up after this! hehehe..
excited. |

I realy like this.
I've been thinking that it would be very cool if we could have some sort of game to be played by multiple ChucKists around a single VM. A thing like that could be very nice for informal parties.
We could make sections for regional meetups on the Wiki or the board as well and we could have party reports with photos, mp3's (or OGG's!) and videos. _________________ Kassen |

I have one idea in mind now... -_- from Kassen's game idea.
I'm imagining a game system driven by a center chuck engine..
the engine receive live sounds from all players around
but all the players make synthesis souns from their computer / system
(no matter what the program is)
and compete up with some audio game rules
eh oh no..
it must be so hard en/decoding -_-
now my brain just hangs hahaah .. |

Read this;
http://www.earlham.edu/~peters/writing/nomic.htm#intro
It's about a very different but related sort of game.
I've been thinking; how about having a playing field... The playing field could be a 16x16 (or something) static array of floats in a public class (so open to all shreds and the same for all yet open to interpertation).
People would take turns adding a shred that would write to this in some (likely periodic) way as well as base the behaviour of some sound on it.
Possible additions; rules against killing shreds by other players directly, a need for a self-termination clause in all shreds.... Some way of dealing with crashes of the shared machine (notice how Nomic deals with this). I think it would be cool to somehow encourage more musical contributions to the shared work (audience judges?). _________________ Kassen |

now i'm thinking about Chuck multiplayer RPG adventure (-_- surely not MMORPG)
or some game idea from Magic the Gathering..
that'd be fun to play with.. and we can have the main server speak out
to let everybody knows how's each player's doing |
