It may sound strange, we can't assign the modwheel. Feeling rather stupid tonight, I don't know.

When assigning MIDI controllers the input options start at controller 2.

So how does one assign controller 0 and 1?

The mod wheel is tied to one of the morphs, so you could use that I guess ?

Yes, I have never understood why the G2 and NM1 are different in this respect. On the NM1 you can directly assign the mod wheel to a parameter but you can't on the G2. On the G2, you have to use up one of the Morph groups to assign the mod wheel, even if you only need to assign the Mod Wheel to one parameter, which seems like a waste of valuable Morph assignments to me.

But as usual, there is a work-around. Depending on what you are trying to do, you can drag the DEVICE module (from the In/Out tab) into the patch and you can patch the mod wheel directly to a parameter that way. This also gives you the ability to process the Mod Wheel response by sending it through shapers or whatever, which can be helpful.
